This is Catharine and Marwan, creators of Rufflect Bandanas. We walk and hike a lot with our dogs, two fantastic rescue mutts named Lexi (adopted 2015) and Coco (adopted 2024). In the winter, most of our outings are in the dark, considering the short days here in the Midwest. One evening a few years back, we were walking on an especially dark night and almost got hit by a car in our neighborhood.  We quickly realized that we weren’t visible to drivers. I immediately went home and started shopping for reflective safety items but couldn’t find exactly what I wanted. I started messing around with creating bandanas – ones that were easy to put on and take off, because Lexi hated anything going over her head. With my design background, Marwan’s creative input, and lots of trial and error, we eventually created the RUFFLECT® bandana! One side of each bandana is made of reflective fabric for safety at night, while the other side is a fun print for daytime style. We had a lot of people asking about our bandanas, so in 2019 we created our little company and started selling our bandanas at local markets. We're so excited that dogs (and their owners) will be more visible out there.  If we help save just one pup, it’s all worth it. Every pup deserves safety & style!
